Being invited to give a TEDx talk remains nearly t Being invited to give a TEDx talk remains nearly ten years later as one of the most wonderful highlights of my life. Not just business or speaking work - but truly - life. ⁠ ⁠ I workshopped and practiced that baby H A R D.⁠ ⁠ I went all in and when I found out I would be the last speaker of the day just before the iconic Clare Bowditch would perform - I did my best to remain (somewhat) calm! ⁠ ⁠ On the day for TEDxLittleLonsdaleStreetWomen I gave my talk entitled 'Compassionately Questioning the Voice Within' for the theme of 'An Honest Conversation.' I spoke about how the most honest conversation in our lives we must always begin with is our own, shared some of my sordid Bridget Jones style dating history - including a hat tip to the always will have a place in my TV character heart - Isaac from The Love Boat - and in typical Julie fashion wobbled a little with an almost tear right at the end when I spoke about how vital it is for women to learn to cultivate an inner world that is steeped in more kindness and love and less criticism and perfection. ⁠ ⁠ That talk was a turning point in my work on stage and in my business as well when afterwards I was flooded with enquiries to work with me. ⁠ ⁠ From a 15 minute talk. ⁠ ⁠ And since then I have NEVER questioned my worth about being in front of an audience. ⁠Never. ⁠ ⁠ Speaker applications for TEDxCecilStreet @tedxcecilstreet - which I have the deep honour of co-curating with @heart_sparks - are currently open but only until Sunday June 26th, 11:59PM AEST. ⁠ ⁠ Step up. Today I am celebrating the beautiful Caroline Brun Today I am celebrating the beautiful Caroline Brunne @caroline_brunne at the launch of her debut book 'More Than One Thing Can Be True - A Story of Survival.' ⁠ ⁠ Well - isn't that the truth.⁠ ⁠ Caroline's memoir is a story of survival after devastating experiences of childhood trauma and abuse. It is a story of a strong, resilient, talented and incredible woman who I am honoured to know. ⁠ ⁠ I first met Caroline when she was my client in The Sovereign Collective with my co-facilitator @keminekvapil. A brilliant and successful businesswoman in so many ways, we formed a connection that is still present today. ⁠ ⁠ I'm honoured to be attending this launch today and raising money for Bravehearts @braveheartsprotectskids who provide child protection training, education programs, specialist child s**ual abuse counselling and support services. ⁠ ⁠ Caroline's voice is one of hope and light to all survivors of childhood abuse.⁠ ⁠ If you or someone you know needs this book in their life I cannot recommend it highly enough.⁠ ⁠ Congratulations Caroline! Let the celebrations begin! ⁠ ⁠
